The Police Training is a project that has been realised in the context of The Social Experiment, a collaboration between the artists Klaas van Gorkum, Iratxe Jaio, Wouter Osterholt, Jonas Staal and Elke Uitentuis. In October 2011 they were invited by the Artez Academy to organise a "resilience training for artists".
During three days, two instructors from the police academy teach the art of interrogation to a group of artists and students. They were given a course in cross-questioning techniques, which they put into practice in a role play. In the evenings, the participants were stimulated to apply this knowledge within their own practices, through screenings and discussion of relevant literature. The trainings were for free, food and lodging in cabins was arranged, but full attendance of the program was compulsory.
