A project that explores the notion of home or habitat, within the context of the large-scale urban expansion of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of Basque Country, in Spain. The final exhibition in Centro Cultural Montehermoso features the reconstruction of a house that is being built in the suburbs of Vitoria. Assembled like the television set of a soap opera, it functions as a framework for the video “Desde aquí hasta ahí” (From here to there), which is playing on the TV set in the living room. Next to the house fences enclose a surface area that is equal to that of the appartement. Behind this perimeter 11 paintings hang, depicting a cross-section of the unfinished plan of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Two more videos play on the walls of the exhibition space, one consisting of shots from a helicopter flying over the city, and another with riding shots from left to right of locations such as furniture shops, DIY stores, shelves of a second hand shop and the set of a local soap series (Goenkale).
Parallel to the exhibition, there was a seminar on alternative models for urban planning and social organization, "The Vanishing Point", followed by an organized walking tour from the periphery of the city to the center.
